Privacy Policy
Hourling is a study timer and exam pace planner. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Hourling app.
- Your study data stays on your device. Hourling has no account and no server of its own.
- Hourling does not use analytics, advertising or tracking.
- We never sell or share your information.
What Hourling stores on your device
- Your exam plan: exam name, exam date, target hours, and the minutes you can study on weekdays and weekends.
- Your study record: the start time, length and timer mode of each session, minutes you add by hand, notes you write, and rest days.
- Settings: theme, reminder time and whether reminders are on.
This information is kept in the app's private storage on your device. Hourling does not send it to us or to anyone else.
When information leaves your device
Only when you choose to send it:
- CSV export. You choose where the file is saved. Notes are included in the export.
- Share card. The progress image is created on your device and handed to the system share sheet. It shows your exam name and progress, never your notes. Where it goes is up to you.
- Email to support. If you tap the feedback link, your email app opens with our address. We only see what you choose to send.
Purchases (Hourling Plus)
If you buy Hourling Plus, payment is handled by Apple (App Store) on iPhone or by Google (Google Play) on Android. We never see your name, Apple ID or Google account, or payment details.
To check whether you have an active subscription and to restore purchases, Hourling uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. RevenueCat receives a random, anonymous app user ID, your purchase and subscription history, and basic technical details such as the app version, device operating system and store country. It does not receive your study data. RevenueCat processes this information on our behalf only to provide purchases.
Device backups
If you back up your device (for example with iCloud, Google backup, or to a computer), your backup may include Hourling's data under your own account and your backup provider's terms. You can change this in your device settings.
Notifications
If you turn on reminders, Hourling schedules local notifications on your device: a daily study reminder and countdown reminders before your exam. They are created and delivered by your device; we don't run a notification service. Hourling asks for permission only when you turn reminders on.
Children
Hourling is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Deleting your information
- In the app: Settings → Delete all study data removes your exam, sessions, notes and rest days.
- Uninstalling Hourling removes all of its data from your device. Copies in your own device backups follow your backup settings.
- Purchase records held by RevenueCat are tied only to an anonymous ID. To ask for them to be deleted, email us and we'll handle it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and mention significant changes in the app's release notes.
